The ‘Wonder Women’ who are Stronger than Their Male Leads: Park Bo Young, Lee Bo Young, and Im Soo Jung
This is the time for women to show that they could be stronger than men. Park Bo Young, Lee Bo Young, and Im Soo Jung are the examples. The three actresses display a new reversed charm in drama screens by portraying female characters that are stronger than their male leads.
In JTBC’s Friday-Saturday drama ‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon’, Park Bo Young played as Do Bong Soon, a woman who has Herculean strength ever since she was born. In this drama, Do Bong Soon was the one who (almost) always saves Ahn Min Hyuk (Park Hyung Sik) every time a danger occurs.
Despite temporarily losing her power after she was trapped by Kim Jang Hyuk (the women kidnapper), Do Bong Soon finally got her strength back with the power of love, and she finally saved the Ahn Min Hyuk’s life. At the end, Do Bong Soon finally settled to use her strength, which is even bigger than men, to save the people around her, and also to save the world.
Lee Bo Young’s appearance as a strong woman in SBS Monday – Tuesday drama ‘Whisper’ also should not be missed. Playing as Shin Young Joo, Lee Bo Young confronts Lee Sang Yoon (Lee Dong Joon, the male lead of this drama) to free her father, who’s been charged with murder. Shin Young Joo, the elite detective in the police department, is a smart and intelligent person who earned the nickname ‘wonder woman’ for saving Lee Dong Joon’s life.
Lastly, there is Im Soo Jung in tvN’s newest Friday-Saturday drama, ‘Chicago Typewriter’. Im Soo Jung plays as Jeon Seol, a fan who keeps saving the life of an author named Han Se Joo, from various death threats and danger. However, the two of them also keep having misunderstanding with each other.
Though this drama has just started two weeks ago, public already cannot wait to see more of Jeon Seol’s ability to save people’s lives in ‘Chicago Typewriter’.
